Reconstructing the Bridge: Centering the Leadership of Black Women, Women of Color, and LGBTQ+ People In our Movement  is a three-unit workshop. First, an overview of the History (1492–2022) of Black and BIPOC women and LGBTQ+ people in our movement through a brief Power Point presentation of key Black women, women of color, and LGBTQ+ people who worked to end sexualized violence but whose contributions and achievements have often been forgotten, minimized or rendered invisible.  Following the Power Point presentation, an interactive, participatory reflection on the contributions of Black women, women of color and LGBTQ+ people in the movement to end gendered violence will explore those who have inspired and influenced the workshop attendees. Finally, acknowledgment, validation, and uplift of workshop attendees who are Black, people of color, and LGBTQ+  will be offered by linking learnings from the workshop with leadership development suggestions, resources, and self-care recommendations, which will support and champion the achievements and advancement of today's Black, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ advocates and activists within our movement.
