This workshop is a collaboration between two organizations that do prevention and education work around sexual assault for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). One of the presenters has a developmental disability. The workshop acknowledges and explores the unique hurdles that POC and LGBTQ+ people with disabilities face when attempting to access services. We will provide information on what IDD is, sexual development of people with IDD, power and control dynamics between caregivers and people with IDD, education as prevention and core skills on choice, consent, boundaries and privacy.
